Nike Running Spikes

Running spikes increase performance by providing greater traction between an athlete and the surface under their feet. Around 100 years ago, J.W.Foster and Sons began producing the first running spikes to enable the companies founder, himself an enthusiastic runner, to run faster. The company later changed it's name to Reebok.

In the 1920's, Adidas began producing a range of running spikes using lightweight materials. Their running spikes were designed specifically for different distances using hand forged spikes.
